What a day!
The morning was spent packing and re-packing, eliminating items, then adding them back. Finally, an additional suitcase was added into the mix and we made everything fit...including our nice camera! He said he didn't have to take a camera, and I said..."You're going to Mt. Everest...you absolutely HAVE to take the camera." He did...he wanted to...he was just being silly!!
Before going to the airport, we met Trace's mom & dad at McDonald's for a quick bite to eat. They said their good-bye's then we were off to drop Trace off. Originally, Aubri & I were just going to drop him at the door with his luggage...then he decided we could go in with him. So glad we did!
I didn't cry until he was gone and couldn't see me. Then I cried for awhile, being careful not to let Aubri see me. She definitely knew something was going on; she was the whiniest she's ever been and very needy.
This will be a LONG 3 weeks without her daddy...she wanted to go up the escalator with him. She said, "I wanna go with Daddy." Whoo...hard stuff.
This is the longest period of time Trace & I have been apart in our 10 years of marriage. It never phased me until today...then it hit me.
We'll be fine, I know. We are surrounded by great support, love, family & friends!!
Please throw up some extra prayers as Trace and the team travel to Nepal then up the mountain.
I'm so excited to see him on the 24th/25th and hear all about his incredible trip.
He wasn't mad...his mouth was full of food!
Time for Good-Bye hugs...
...and kisses!
Trace with his mom.
Trace with his parents!
He's always pickin on his dad.
We'll miss you daddy!!
Hear are some kisses to take with you!
AT THE AIRPORT:
Bonus...they're flying FIRST CLASS!
Aubri jumps right in to mingle with everyone.
But, also stays close to Daddy!
And...she always has to know right where Dr. Deming is.
Always!
She doesn't usually spend much time away from him when he's around.
Trace visiting with Emelia.
Aubri even made friends with the workers there checking in bags. She received her own pink airplane!
Justin got his guitar out just for Aubri.
Here's the Group! They're off to Nepal.
God, watch over this amazing group of people. Go with them every step of the way, protecting them always. Guide and direct and make their path straight and free from harm. Be with them always, keep them safe, and help them to have an incredible experience on this trip. Open their eyes to the beauty and unfathamable world they will soon see. May they be compelled to draw close to you and acknowledge you as the God of the Universe.
Amen
