Mexican Fiesta

A couple of weeks ago we hosted our annual get together with our Everest Family!  This year's theme was a Mexican Fiesta.  Almost the entire team, supports, and family were there for the party minus just a few.  We had a great time reminicing about the trip, sharing stories, enjoying food and drink, busting pinata's, singing, dancing, and good conversation.

It's tradition that Trace makes a special "Drink of the Day/Night" for these events.  This year's...El Conquistador.  It was some yummy drink and went over quite well.

For weekends up to this date we had had perfect Saturday's, no rain, hot maybe, but dry with no rain.  Then...the one Saturday we especially want it to be gorgeous so we can enjoy the outdoors on the brand new deck, what does it do?  Rains...and rains...AND rains some more.  All day, as a matter of fact, it rained.  Thank you God for the rain!

It all worked out fine, just not as pretty!  We made do with the garage.  Everyone stayed dry plus we got to spend a small amount of time on the deck later in the evening before returning to the garage for music.

Some friends we see pretty regularly, but others we don't, so it was so nice having everyone together...especially to celebrate Trace's CLEAR scan he had on the Wednesday before the party!  Hallelujah, God Is So Good!!!!!!

Nothing fancy, but this is the best we could do with the rain interfering!

The girls had a blast playing in the rain while we waited for the first guests to arrive.
I think Aubri changed 3x!

 Darling!

This pretty 'lil unicorn has no idea at this point that her head will be chopped off before long!

 And...of course, Aubri too!
Aubri held on as long as she possibly could then zonked out to the lull of the music!
Once girls were in bed, things really got wild!  Justin generously giving his wife, Alicia, the rest of the "El Conquistador"

Already excited for next year!
Love you all~

State Fair 2012

Yesterday, Friday, was an awesome day!  We had a family day at the Iowa State Fair and it was perfect!

Trace had a fab idea to go early in the morning...so, we did.  There was no traffic getting there down University, there were no crowds yet to fight at the fair, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous and comfortable.  In fact, I was wearing a jacket and the girlies were in long pants and long sleeved shirts.

We later changed them into shorts and shirts, but it was a perfect start to the day with light jackets.

We looked at lots of animals, ate lots of yummy fair food, and rode rides.  The best part was that Daddy was there with us and he was having fun.  On a side note, he despises the fair and could never go again and be completely happy!  It was a fun day and we were all smiles:)

WARNING:  There are A LOT of pictures in this post!

 Welcome to the State Fair!
1st Stop...Breakfast!  Mini Donuts and Milk.

Took a stop to do some Spin Art!

 The girlies love this!

Then Aubri decided she wanted to milk a cow...then she got scared so Mommy helped!

This horse was so funny.  He (or she) would take some water then tilt his head up and smile & show teeth before spitting it out again!
After looking through the horse barn, Daddy quizzed Aubri!

Next we had some Root Beer!
And played some games of Bags!
Emili accompanied Daddy into Snakes Alive!
He always missed out on this because no one will ever go with him.  He finally found a partner.

Next stop = The Big Slide
Daddy & Em went first then Aubri & I took our turn.
 Slush Factory
 Pina Colada & Strawberry!

The famous Corn Dog with mustard & ketchup.  Delicious!!
This is what we looked like most of the day...The girls took turns riding in the stroller while Daddy pushed one and the other walked beside!
Cheese Curds...These were the best; I could have eaten a dozen more orders.
 Nutty Bar
We visited the General Store and purchased some Dinosaur Tattoos and Old Fashioned Candy.
 Cutesie!
Aubri & Daddy take a break for a picture.
 Watching the ducks swim around.
 We saw a chick hatch.
 Baby piglets
Wish I could've taken him home...isn't he gorgeous?
2nd go-round on the slide.  The girls loved it so much, we did again.  T

No way I could ride this again with Em.
So, they went on this boat instead so they could go alone without me.

What a day, we had a blast!
