We spent Labor Day weekend up north in Storm Lake for a wedding! One of the officers Trace used to work with, who he actually trained & mentored as well, was finally tying the knot. We were excited to be there for it and celebrate with Joey and his bride. We also knew that we'd get to see a lot of other friends we don't get to see very often so we were looking forward to that.
We booked a room at the Kings Pointe Resort & Waterpark for a night, which was super fun. This is Aubri's kind of place...with the water and all! Trevor preferred the ginormous playground outside. That's his thing!

The Wedding Reception
Yummy punch!
These 2 kids danced their little hearts out...especially Aubri! Trevor spent a lot of time playing with the Doebel boys. None the less, they had a wonderful time at the reception and we all left very tired.
Two thumbs up for the waterpark!
This waterpark is super fun! The best part is that it wasn't very busy so we had a great time. Aubri & I went down one of the waterslides, which I didn't get a picture of, but it goes outside the building and then back in. It is 100% enclosed and very DARK, so you don't know what's comin next, you just go with the flow being tossed around at a pretty rapid speed...ooh! It was fun, but a little un-nerving. Aubri did great, but was totally fine NOT going a second time!!
She spent a lot of time on these cool pads in the water, jumping from one to the next to get to the other side. There were lots of kids in this area that were so good to her and always helped her across.
Sunday morning after checking out of the hotel, we headed further north up to the lakes in Okoboji to spend the day with our friends at their lake home!
The kids enjoying some afternoon ice cream treats!
Aubri, John, Trevor
Ready for a boat ride on the water!
Aubri loved it! So did Trevor...he wanted nothing to do with going on the boat at first, but ended up loving it once we were out. This was both of the kids first time on a boat.
Buddies!!
It was a little chilly so we didn't get in the water...next year!
Next stop...dinner & an overnight at Tom & Chris's near Linn Grove
It was awesome to spend some time with Tom & Chris again. They are dear friends of ours and we used to see a lot more of each other and do a trip together yearly. It's been awhile since we've been together due to busy lives and schedules so it was perfect to set some time aside while we were up this way to be with them. Our times together are always refreshing and relaxing. Trace sleeps the best at their house and it's so peaceful spending time there.
Trevor shot a gun for the first time during our stay...paintball gun. He thought it was the coolest!

Tom assisting while Trace & Colin were off playing with other "toys".
Way to go Trevor!!
We will for sure be back this way next August if not before. Mishy & Colin are getting married so we'll definitely be here for the big event next year!! Yeah, we are so happy for them...they are a super sweet couple and we love them.
Final stop of the weekend...Nannie's home in Ft. Dodge
Nannie is my Grandma.
She is my mom's mom.
We don't see near enough of her or spend the time with her that I wish we could.
I'm so glad we stopped to be with her this day!
She was so happy to have company and see the kiddos.
She is aging and has alzheimers...this day was a pretty good day for her.
I love her! We love her!
It was the perfect Labor Day Weekend!!
