Tuesday night, Trace & I attended an awards banquet presented by Iowa Health System. Trace, along with the other 13 cancer survivors who went to Mt. Everest, was selected to be a recipient of the 2011 Light of Wellness Award!
For 21 years, the Wellness Council of Iowa's mission has been to help employers improve the well-being of their number one asset-their employees. Today, the vision of the WCI is the contribute in the success of establishing Iowa as the healthiest state in the Nation.
The accomplishments celebrated this evening are a testament to the human ability to weather challenges and reclaim personal responsibility for one's health.
We enjoyed a Social Time and Dinner before hearing the Keynote Speaker, who was Dr. Deming. He shared the Cancer Survivors Trek to Everest. The Awards Presentation concluded the evening.

This was the Emcee of the evening, if you will...But, if you notice the first name on the screen is Trace's. Kinda cool...I didn't even realize that his name was on the screen when I clicked the picture; I noticed it as I was editing the photos.
