Family Vacation: Part B of Part 1 - Memphis Zoo

When we finished at the Museum we drove over to the Memphis Zoo, which is right in the middle of the Memphis College of Art where my sister attends!  Very convenient location for all of the art students and us too.  It was supposed to rain all day, in fact it was while we were at the museum.  By the time we arrived at the zoo, the weather had changed a little and we had a few hours of break from the rain (thank you, Lord) before it would start again.

Reminder, this was Monday, so there were very few people here, which made it all the more enjoyable.  It's amazing how much more fun and relaxing things are when you're not fighting crowds.  It was perfect.  I can't remember the last time I visited a zoo without sweating the entire time.

I absolutely loved spending the day with my mom & sister.

Snacks at the Cafe to get us started.
My mom bought the girls sweatshirts when we got there since "Mom of the Year" here didn't bring anything warm for them.  How was I to know it was gonna be cold this day? Geesh.
Mmm...coffee! We're good friends.
There were 2 of these little guys that were right at the window...just hangin out, pickin fleas off of one another, ya know.  We were very close and trying to play with them and one of 'em got jealous and attached the window where we were standing.

We had a ball watching all of the apes.

This is the big daddy!  He's the one in charge.
We even got to witness feeding time.  Very cute and entertaining.

Catchin lunch!
Trace getting a lot of information about the apes from this nice zoo keeper!

They were "Best Friends" at the zoo a lot of the time.
I love these moments!

Ready for the Sea Lion show!

Out of the entire Gift Shop, umbrella's are what they both chose!
For supper after the zoo we tried this new joint in town.  My sister & I were in the mood for mexican and the sign is PINK, it's gotta be good!
(And...it was)
