Time to Shop!

I can't belive the time has come & gone already now for our Annual Shopping Trip.  It actually happened the weekend before Thanksgiving.  The usual plan is for event to take place in Des Moines, staying at a Hotel Suite in West Des Moines and shopping at the many stores in the area.  This year we changed it up a little, trying to save a few bucks by staying at my Aunt Sharon's house in Ft. Dodge.

It was great!  We got to all be together in the comfort of a home and still shop.  Kohl's recently opened in Ft. Dodge so that was exciting.  They also have a mall and of course, Target and Walmart.  It was a weekend full of fun and laughter and the weather was pretty descent too!

We ate a ton of good food, had a lot of great conversations and laughed til we about pee'd our pants!

Friday night we just sat around and enjoyed snacks and the company of one another!
Sam & Aubri made up this platter of yummies & served us.
Aubri bringing around the olives for all to enjoy!
...or, eating everyone's share of them.
Samantha & Miranda made this cute tye blanket for Aubri Friday night!

Saturday, after a very long day of shopping, we all convened back at Sharon's for supper and some R&R.

It's jammie time for Aubri & Rory!
 The Girly Girls!
It's game time!  Okay, so we each had to bring a grab bag gift + a new ornament for an exchange.  This is the grab bag exchange and first you chose a slip of paper from the little bucket and had to do what the paper said to do before getting to choose a bag from under the tree!
Aubri choosing her slip.
She's reading her slip of paper!  I wonder what it could say?
Her task was to hold a banana in her mouth while shaking everyone's hand!!!!  She did an awesome job and totally participated to the fullest.  She walked around the room shaking every single person's hand while keeping the banana in her mouth.  Too hilarious!
Kathy cracks up while shaking Aubri's hand!
I had to sing "It's Begining to Look A Lot Like Christmas" to Joan without smiling or laughing!  Yeah right...I sang (kinda sorta), but with lots of laugher.
My voice cracked a lot when I got to "Like Christmas" just like a boy going through puberty!
I didn't hear the end of that the rest of the night and next day.
Kathy had sit on my lap while drinking a bottle!
Stacey had to crawl around the room like a dog singing, "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas".

We all got our grab bags and had a load of fun doing it.  This was a great idea and if you came with a frown, it definitely didn't last long!!

These are Aubri's ornaments from the exchange and I got a snowman!  Very cute sweater, huh?

Cheers to a Fabulous Girl's Weekend!
