Follow-Up with Doctor...

This morning Aubri had a follow-up appointment to our ER episode with her regular pediatrician. We also took care of her 15 month checkup! The good part of killing two birds with one stone is that we don't have to take time to go back in another week and pay another co-pay...the bad part is that she had to have 3 more painful shots that I wasn't expecting. She's a toughy though; cried because it hurt, but calmed down quickly and did great the rest of the day. I felt bad I had to leave her and go to work, but she had a fun day with Nitavonne and Daddy was able to pick her up mid afternoon and spend some quality time with her!

I was told that since she has had one Febrile Seizure, that she is not very susceptible (spelling??) to having more, but again, these have no bad effects, do not cause brain damage, and do not mean that she'll be inclined to seizures or epilepsy as an adult. It's simply a child thing that actually is very common.

The thing about Aubri is that she needs to be medicated with Tylenol and Motrin at the slightest sign of a fever, so whenever she feels even a little bit warm, we need to give her Tylenol before a fever would even have time to hit.

Also, we have an appointment to go see an ear specialist to talk about getting tubes in her ears. She has had 4 ear infections in the last 3 months so we're hoping she's a good candidate and that it will take care of everything, including fevers.
