Aubri's Special Meeting

In preparation for Aubri starting preschool, one of our other tasks included meeting her new teacher!  They conduct home meetings with each of the students in their class so they have an opportunity to meet them, get to know them a little, and share with them what is about to happen.

I love this idea of coming into our home where Aubri is comfortable and we have the opportunity to meet her teacher all by ourselves, ask questions, and take pictures...with no one else around!

Aubri was so excited for this meeting to take place.  The first time we set up her teacher was a No Show and she was really upset.  So, we set another and she prepared again!  Just as excited, if not more, than the time before.

She is all about writing right now...letters, letters, her name, more letters, and everything in between.  You can usually find her with a pen or marker in hand, ready to write notes and/or work on her "schedule".  She has plenty of notebooks and writing boards around so that she is always busy!  This is her thing, and she does it quite well.  So..this preschool deal, she is all about!  Super excited to go...NOW.

We're excited right along with her rather than sad.  We're excited because she's excited and we know she'll do excellent.  It's only for 2 1/2 hours 3 mornings a week so it's actually perfect.  We're even more excited because her teacher is great and we really like her a lot!  I think it's gonna be a fun year for all.

She can barely contain her excitement!
 The "wait" begins indoors!

Aubri wanted to take some pictures...she does a good job, huh?
Getting more and more anxious...ready for her new teacher to arrive.
Then moves outside to the front step, where she makes some "A's" with sidewalk chalk!

Then we move down the sidewalk, out to the driveway!  She was fascinated with her shadow and how big she appears on the cement.
 FINALLY, her teacher arrives!
"Hi, my name is Susan, it's so nice to meet you Aubri."
Aubri wanted to stay outside so Miss Susan didn't hesitate to sit right down with her on the driveway...even in her skirt!  That moment, I knew she was going to be great.
The girlies looking in her bag to see what she brought!
 Play Doh...always a grand idea!
She spent over an hour at our home with us.  The visit was perfect and all of us are so excited for the year to begin.  She met us last Wednesday night so Aubri has just 6 sleeps before she'll see her again on her
1st Day of School!
